The short version
- Your practice texts you about appointments, forms, payments and follow-up, and only if you agree.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Your mobile number and consent are never shared for marketing.
1 The program
Practices use RunPractice to send text messages to their patients (the “Program”). Messages come from your practice and identify it by name. RunPractice may also text practice staff and people who book a demo about their account or booking.
2 How you join
You join the Program by checking the text-message box when you book online, by turning on texts in your patient portal, or by asking your practice to text you. Agreeing to marketing texts is never a condition of buying anything or of receiving care.
3 What you’ll receive
- appointment confirmations, reminders and changes;
- openings from a waitlist you joined;
- links to complete forms and consents;
- video visit links;
- payment requests and receipts;
- check-ins after a visit and reminders when you’re due for care; and
- replies from your practice’s team or AI assistant to texts you send.
Message frequency varies with your appointments and care.
4 Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Your practice and RunPractice don’t charge for the texts, but your mobile carrier may.
5 How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE and QUIT work too. You’ll get one text confirming that you’ve opted out, and no further texts from that practice’s program unless you join again. Reply START to rejoin.
Opting out of texts doesn’t cancel your appointments. Your practice may still contact you by phone, email or the portal when your care requires it.
6 Help
Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact your practice. For technical questions about the Program, email [email protected].
7 Carriers and delivery
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery isn’t guaranteed, so don’t rely on texts for urgent needs. In an emergency, call 911.
8 Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the service providers that deliver the messages.
Texts are designed to leave out detailed health information and link to your portal instead. Our Privacy Policy and your practice’s Notice of Privacy Practices explain how your information is handled.
9 Your number and changes
You must be the account holder for your mobile number or have the account holder’s permission to join. Tell your practice if your number changes or you give up your phone, so that messages don’t reach someone else.
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version.
